Single-Vehicle Crash in Poinsett County Claims Two Lives

Two people, a minor and an adult, lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash in Poinsett County on Friday, November 13th. The accident took place along Highway 140 and Buel Lane at about 6:30 a.m.

According to the Arkansas State Police, a truck was westbound on the highway approaching Buell Lane. After failing to negotiate a curve rightly, the driver drove off the roadway and hit the bottom of an embankment.

The truck then went airborne and traveled about 175 feet before striking the ground. It overturned several times before resting on Buel Lane. The crash report showed that the collision’s impact ejected the minor who remains unidentified and 28-year-old Otto Timbs of Lepanto.

The minor passed away at the scene, while medics took Timbs to an area hospital to treat injuries. The ASP had not disclosed who was driving the vehicle but noted that the weather was clear and the road dry when the accident occurred.

No one sets out to suffer a car accident, and when it happens, it leads to minor, severe, or fatal injuries. After a crash, it is vital to report to the relevant authorities and follow up with an investigation to determine who the at-fault driver is.

Once that is established, the victim can institute a claim to recover damages from the at-fault driver with a car accident attorney’s help. The court’s compensation often covers medical bills, loss of income, and emotional and physical damage.
