Harrison Man Killed in Pine Bluff Motorcycle Accident

Motorcycle accidents can be the deadliest kind. Just ask any officer who’s had to respond to a late-night accident involving a motorcycle. This certainly proved to be the case this weekend in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

The police responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 65. It was about 11:00 pm when they arrived at the scene of the crash. It occurred just a mile south of the junction with Arkansas Highway 81.

A 51-year old man named Daniel Rodriguez from Harrison was apparently driving his motorcycle down the highway when he lost control of his bike. According to authorities, he was traveling down the road when his motorcycle left the roadway and ended up overturning on the side of the road. It came to finally land on top of the median in the middle of the highway.

The driver was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Sadly, about an hour later, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. There were not other people on the bike at the time of the crash. There also does not appear to be any other cars involved.

The investigation is still ongoing. Typically, in accidents where the driver loses control of their vehicle, the police always need to rule out impairment as a cause. Likely, there have been toxicology reports sent to the lab but there is no confirmation at this time either way.

If there was a problem with the bike, the victim’s family will likely have a potential legal claim. They’ll have to wait for the investigation to be completed.
