33-Year Old Greenwood Man Killed in Single Car Accident

Nobody ever wants to hear that someone has been killed in a car accident in Arkansas. But when it happens around the holidays, it’s truly heartbreaking. This is a time of year when family likes to get together and enjoy the season. To learn that your loved one has been killed in a fatal crash is devastating at any time, but even worse this time of year. Sadly, this is what happened in Greenwood on Friday morning.

33-year old David Jeffrey of Mansfield was traveling north on US Route 71 and Liberty Drive when he lost control of his vehicle. His car left the road and ended up smashing into a tree. The young man was transported to Washington Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, he didn’t survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the crash.

The weather was cloudy but the roads were clear. The police still aren’t sure what caused the victim to lose control of his vehicle. It was about 7:30 am and traffic was normal. Thankfully, no other cars were involved in the crash. There didn’t appear to be anyone else in the car at the time of the crash. There was also no information on whether or not the road was closed for any lengthy period of time.

The man’s next of kin was notified shortly after the accident. The police say they are still investigating the crash and have not determined a crash. They didn’t say whether they think alcohol or drugs were a factor. However, that cannot be ruled out.

If your loved one is injured or killed in any sort of motor vehicle accident, you need to call our car accident lawyers right away.
